Anyone who is interested in helping design a t-shirt for LibriVox, post here!

History of discussion: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1864

Edit (30 March): Marlo has made a good case against using Cafe Press, and for using Zazzle, which she uses for her own things. So I think we should look into Zazzle images, too - they like .png files, too. Here are the specs - scroll down for Images: http://www.zazzle.com/help/default.asp

------------
I suggest we start by making one to the Cafe Press specs: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/help/images.aspx
They recommend using .png files.

Cafe Press ships world-wide. We can use the image for other shops, too (there are some in Europe, of course), but let's go with Cafe Press for now because they have very good specs and an easy set-up for designing and buying, and have many garment options to choose from.

They have a 'one size fits all' image which fits most of their garments - that might be a good one to go for, then everyone can choose which t-shirt style/colour/size they want and can just create it by uploading the graphics file.

Specs for the 'one size fits all' image: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/sell/images/images_onesize

Perhaps we could have a black one... my favourite black t-shirt was just eaten by the washing machine... http://www.cafepress.com/cp/learn/blackshirts

Here's the idea I had today: http://greenkri.com/librivox/bird-librivox.png

This is the scaled down version just to show you.

I was walking home and stopped at the crosswalk to watch a bird flying above me. It was so beautiful, and I just loved the image. This is what gave me the idea, and I connected it with LibriVox because birds are often associated with freedom.

That's a nice graphic, Kri! Maybe with some kind of "free literature" or "free audiobooks" tagline and a librivox blurb and url...

Oh yeah. I was thinking of adding LibriVox and some other sort of text. Hmm, what about this...

LibriVox.org
Where audio books are free!

The "free" might be in blue and a more fluid font or something.

I just *love* one of the original logos / tag lines / whatever that I saw about LibriVox -
"Acoustical liberation of books in the public domain"
(I think I got it right)
I adore Kri's graphic, too!

just a couple of ideas (might be too cheezy for consideration though)... what if you put the text on the bird's wings... also, how about making the bird a color instead of just black/grey?

I thought of doing a color. What color do you think?

we have a dark green and gold theme going on the website.. while not official LV colors, attractive nonetheless... but I leave it to your judgement =)

This is awesome guys! I love the second design in your most recent post, kri. I also love that the bird sort of resembles a book. The colors, the text, the font, the image, all great!

I like us all being able to decide what we want: Gesine can get her black t-shirt, I can get a hoodie, and Hugh can get the thong:

Beautiful! What happens to black text on a black shirt, though? And is the yellow lettering going to show up nicely on a white shirt? Should it be a shade or two darker? Well, the nice thing is that we can upload the design and see just what it will look like before we order anything!

So, Hugh, you're going to post a photo on flickr of you in your librivox thong, right?

*falls on floor laughing*
