Manifestly unexciting ... what one hears outside my window on a sleepy May afternoon. Mainly traffic noise, lots of gulls, and the ever-present pigeons cooing away.

But, mebbe someone'll find a good use for it -- and appreciate that I've uploaded 14 mins of it!

[Edited to add: I can't *believe* no-one's recorded this already:

I thought I'd take advantage of a sound I doubt many other people will be able to contribute: Chickens!

No, I don't live on a farm. We just have chickens in the backyard. The neighbors love us. Particularly since it's a lie that roosters crow at dawn. Roosters crow any time they feel like it 2 am, noon, every five minutes for three hours ....

Yours isn't there, Esther. :(

I'm enjoying everybody else's noises, though!

By my estimation, you are already late with your taxes unless of course you are self employed. In either case, taxes owing to the government are payable April 30th so nope no more procrastination!!

And, on the food theme...

http://www.pdsounds.org/sounds/eating_potato_snacks
(Prawn cocktail Multigrain Hula Hoops. Don't do it, people. Even if they are reduced to 50p for a 6-pack.)

Dear goodness, that sounds vile. Thankyou for the price warning, though, sometimes that kind of thing does override my common sense.

I've recorded the garbage truck coming through noise. All the garbage trucks here play a distorted version of Beethoven's "Für Elise" so loudly, you can hear them a mile away (so we know when to take out our garbage every night).
But I'm not sure whether the music is PD or not, so I did not uploaded it.

Instead, I tried to record the frog song (they were humming so loudly...), but when I went out to record, they all went home to rest. :(

So I ended up recording the ambient night noise of insets buzzing:
http://www.pdsounds.org/sounds/country_night_noise

And my terrible metallic door's noise:
http://www.pdsounds.org/sounds/open_metallic_door

And the noise that my mic picked up when I was recording my solo project:
http://www.pdsounds.org/sounds/unlocking_a_car

It is fun, so I'll try to record the frog song later if I can catch them before they stop performing.
