Nope, just use your own judgment.

Hi Robert - I'd appreciate a promo for "Works of Tacitus Vol. 1" just cataloged:
http://librivox.org/works-of-tacitus-ed-trans-thomas-gordon/

Here is a clip for your consideration:
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/km/sample_completetacitus_vol1_gordon_64kb.mp3

The "Annals" themselves are preceeded by a number of "discourses" authored by Thomas Gordon, the translator. The Sample is from Discourse 3 (Sec 04) and was read by volunteer "ontheroad".

The "Annals" deal with the reigns of the Julio-Claudian Roman Emperors, beginning with Agustus. While mainly concerned with affairs of state, the "Annals" don't spare the violent and seamy side of imperial rule.

The Julio-Claudians may have been the Ancient World's most prominent dysfunctional family.

This is the first of four volumes. The second volume is already under way.

Thank you,
Karen Merline

Thank you, Karen, for sending it in! :D

Back to snow patrol, I might miss that snowflake we're supposed to get! They are few and far between unless you live in the mountains. 8)

I proof listened Charles Dickens' "The Old Curiosity Shop", read by euthemius, and MC'd by Ezwa. They both gave me permission to provide you with a clip. Ezwa will catalog it soon, meantime, here is the forum URL:
