Yes, I've seen that too. I thought maybe you had returned it or something?

Anyway, I'm curious to see what you come up with.

There are some interesting pics from a stage production on wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It_Pays_to_Advertise_(play) but the quality is very bad.
There are movie shots - but they are 30's

If all else fails there are always stage curtains. I've been tempted by images of radio plays but they aren't early enough.

I looked at this one too, that's why I'm curious. You beat me to it this time.

I thought about making an actual advertisement bill, in the style of a "Wanted" poster or so. If there are pictures of the stage production, those could be used for the mugshots, perhaps?

There are a pile of men wearing sandwich boards there and an ad on the wall in an interior shot - I'm still thinking :D

Cover for “Excerpts of Mark Twain’s Bibliography …”

If you are considering doing the cover for this “just finished” recording… please consider using the PD graphic from:
https://librivox.org/mark-twains-travel-letters-from-1891-92-by-mark-twain/

Annise’s great work
😊👍

Does anyone else get an error message over at Pixabay?

The last two times I tried downloading from there, after I do the captcha, I get "This URL is invalid or has expired." :?:

Regarding Portuguese or whatever other language: see if the URL has /pt/ in it somewhere. If so, change that to /en/. 8-)

Glad (not really, though) to see it's not just me! I end up using a screen shot / snipping tool to grab the image, since it is PD!

I got the page now, but in the past have had trouble getting a foreign page. I had to clean out my browser history, or cache, whatever that is, and then when I typed in http://www.pixabay.com, I got the English page, and saved it to my favorites. No problems since then.

I only use the snipping tool. You never know what comes in with downloaded images.

You're welcome. I basically copied the cover from one of the English versions.

Hello! Dropping in just to say I absolutely loved the cover to Vida Vertiginosa, by João do Rio. The painting by Amoedo captures exactly the same environment represented in the book. Thank you, Tricia!

Whew! Considering I only searched for a Brazilian artist around the same period as the book, and had Google Translate for the title and summary, I lucked out!

What Tricia meant to say was
"I translated the whole book using Google translate and read it then did a crash course in Brazilian art and decided this would be the image to use"
