Hi, I was hoping to get feedback for my one-minute test, available here: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_toadvine.mp3

Software: Audition
OS: Mac OSx 11.1
Mic type: XLR medium-diaphragm condenser

I ran it through Checker and it passed. The only editing that's been done is noise removal and loudness matching. Normally I'd use a hi-pass filter, de-esser, click remover, and some mild compression as well, but I'm not sure if that's OK for Librivox recordings. Please let me know if there are any issues I should address before my first attempt at recording.

Thanks!

Hi toadvine, welcome to librivox :D

All tech specs are correct and you're sounding great so you're okay to record for projects.

Just keep an eye on volume as it's at the higher end (91.9dB) and we aim for 86 - 92dB (with 89 being the goal), so you don't want to get any louder.

Thanks! I'll keep an eye on the volume--I'm still figuring out how to amplify to a specific db level in Audition, but I think I can manage it.
