Hello to you too and welcome! Your tech specs are all correct but your volume is a bit low. We aim at around 89 decibels and your test is at 83.5. Close but not quite enough.

So, please increase your volume by either using the Record Volume slider bar in Audaciy or speaking a bit louder and/or closer to the microphone. We use a little program called the Checker to see our volume https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKVOYsaDoRo&feature=youtu.be

So, please increase your volume by about 5 decibels, upload the file, call it TEST 2, and put the link here in this thread so I will see it quickly. You are almost there!!! :D

OK, that one did the trick and you have the official OK to record lots and lots. We recommend choosing something short to start because of the editing required and that is another challenge. Readers Wanted: Short works is the best place to look. Here is a video on that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExS71WYtUIc

When recording for real, I would recommend a bit of Noise Reduction. Have fun!

Thanks! I'll look into noise reduction.
