Hello, here's my 1-minute test. There's this strange buzz in the background and I don't know how to remove it so I'd really appreciate some instructions on how to do that. Thank you so much!

Hi Meg. Your track meets all of our technical specs and volume level. But that background noise is really, really loud! so you will need to bring that down a lot. My first suggestion is to turn off all electronics anywhere around the microphone; fans, air conditioners, anything that is putting out that loud buzzing. Move the computer away from the wall. Next, please tell me what microphone you are using and what software program is doing the recording, like Audacity.megbernardo wrote: ↑October 30th, 2020, 7:52 pmHello, here's my 1-minute test. So, turn everything off, move to a quieter room and please make another test, call it TEST 2 with your name, and upload and put the link here in this thread. With more information we can defeat the buzz monster and get you recording.

All I'm saying is that the house doesn't fill up with annoying fruit flies when I buy donuts

Hi, thank you for your feedback. My room was very quiet, but I figured out the source of the background buzz -- it was my laptop itself! The laptop fan was going wild. Hopefully this new recording is better. I used Audacity and RCA bluetooth headphones (model H033C).

Test 2 is indeed much better. The noise is still there but not bad enough to keep you from having the official OK to record lots and lots.
It is hard to get away from laptop fans since when the heat builds up they do go crazy. A cooling stand of some type might help. Since you are using bluetooth headphones with I presume a built in microphone, you can move further away from the laptop than those of us with regular plug in mics and this will reduce the sound also.
I recommend a pass of Noise Reduction in Audacity https://youtu.be/rvhqw7zBmEo . I would recommend about 16 decibels. If you want more info just ask, it is a great tool! Have fun. And we also recommend starting with short stuff like poems. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExS71WYtUIc
