Hi everyone! I have listened to LibriVox books for a couple years and have been intrigued about becoming a LibriVox reader for over a year now! I am so excited to have uploaded my one-minute test! I recorded with a usb Blue Yeti mic onto my Windows computer using Audacity. Any advice on will be helpful. Thank you!

Hi and what a wonderful voice you have! Your tech specs are all correct but your volume is low and will need to be increased.rikkigail2012 wrote: ↑October 27th, 2020, 7:21 pmHi everyone! We aim at a volume of around 89 decibels; your test is at 83 decibels, about 5 below what it should be. We recommend increasing the gain from your mircophone and/or the gain inside of Audacity. That slider bar next to the microphone icon is the one; just move it to the right a bit. You can test your volume in Audcity by using the Checker program. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKVOYsaDoRo&feature=youtu.be
So.. please increase your volume, make another test, call it TEST 2, upload and put the linkhere in this thread so I will see it quickly. You are almost there!!

And that is great! You have the official OK to record lots and lots. We recommend a short piece for your first section because you will need to edit it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExS71WYtUIcrikkigail2012 wrote: ↑October 30th, 2020, 8:30 pmJust finished my second test.
