I kind of had to go through a whole extra process here because I currently only have a chromebook, but ultimately I was using the audacity app, so advice regarding audacity will mostly work about the same. An an Insignia USB mic. I didn't actually do noise removal because every time I tried audacity started playing the recording all garbled, but that seems to have just been a playback problem and not a file problem, so I can go back now and do the noise removal if it's needed.

Thank you very much!

Yes, sometimes it takes a lot of work to get even the simple things done. I know!! Anyway y our tech specs are all right on the button and correct and your voice is very good. I am giving you the official OK to record lots and lots.
One caution however is that your volume is a bit high at 92.8. decibels. Please back off the gain a bit when making real recordings. Use the |Checker if you can https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKVOY a little free program written just for us. Now on to claiming your first section. We suggest short stuff to start with because of the editing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExS71WYtUIc

Thank you so much for the positive feedback! I'm wondering, what's a good volume I should shoot for? The Newbie Guide doesn't give a specific range, it only says to watch out for being too quiet.

We aim at 89 decibels (86-92). The Checker will help with that. :D
