Here's my file: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_recording_by_winter.mp3

I think I might be a little quiet? I just got this laptop so I haven't messed with the mic/sound settings much yet

I am recording using audacity, a Blue Ice Snowball USB mic, and a Dell laptop running windows 10

Yep, you are correct. All of your technical specs are fine and your voice seems great, but your volume is much too low. We aim at arouond 89dB but your test comes in at 73 decibels. I suggest increasing the gain on your microphone if possible, then the gain inside Audacity to bring up the input volume. Here is a program we use to quickly check our volume https://youtu.be/QKVOYsaDoRo

So, please bring up that volume to around 89dB, make another t est call it tEST 2, upload and put the link here so I can see it quickly. You are almost there! :D

Is it ok if I just edit this test or would you rather I re-do it completely?

I was thingking sure, but it is better to change your input volume by increasing gain rather than just amplifying the track. This way your setting will be adjusted for future recordings. So ... please do t hat and make another test, call it test 2.

Haven't had a quiet moment to record (my sisters like to hang out in my room for some reason  ) I'll re-record this later this week when I can get a bit of quiet in my room
