Hello everyone, I hope I've done it right the first time:

Let me know if it's too quiet, or if there are any technical problems.

Hi Owlpelt. There are a few things you will need to fix in your software and then make another test, test 2:

1) we need it in mono; yours is in stereo (two tracks)
2) we need a bit rate of 128 kbs constant; yours is in 141 variable
3) we need more volume; we aim at 89 dB, yours is at 81.4 dB
4) you have too much rumble or background noise.

If you are using Audaity here is a video on fixing the first two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8JkCgKo3fU&t=72s
if you are using something else, please let me know the name of the software.

Your volume needs to come up; increase the gain of your microphone of the gain inside your software.
Here is a link to the Checker program which will tell you your volume https://youtu.be/QKVOYsaDoRo

so please fix these items, make another test, test 2, upload it and put the link here in this t hread where I will see it quickly.

Posting again just in case: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test2_owlpelt.mp3

There might still be some background noise, I can look into relocating if it's too much

Great. You have the official OK to record lots and lots. The background noise 'looks' like a lot on the waveform but I don't hear it anymore, so go forth and record!
