Hi Katy

Welcome to Librivox.

You have a very pleasant voice

Your test recording was clear but a little on the quiet side. I would suggest amplifying by about 5 db.

The Librivox Checker programme, which is a free download, is useful for checking audio specifications:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker

I also noticed a few plosives (popping '"p" sounds.) Phil Chenevert has a video about dealing with this issue:

If you correct and reuploade your reading someone will check it for you.

Cheers

Greetings!

After getting feedback on my first test, I altered my microphone setup and learned how to use editing features in Audacity to fix my plosives. This is my second test.

Katy,

Just following up on your test. Volume is now fine. I noticed a bit of background noise - but oddly it was only in the silence at the beginning and end of the recording, not when you were reading. Just watch that for the future - there's info on noise cleaning here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Noise_Cleaning If you clean, be sure to apply the cleaning to the entire recording (CTLR-A).

I'll mark your thread OK. Look forward to seeing you round the forums.

MaryAnn
