Welcome to Librivox, Adeline!

Lovely voice! We just need to control the volume, and adjust the bitrate. The volume is somewhat loud, that may create clipping and distortion, so I suggest you bring down your microphone's input volume, from the microphone slider in Audacity (Mixer Toolbar), not by much, so an not to get too soft, let's try one notch perhaps? so that visually, the waveform still peaks above the 0.5 mark, just not all the way up/down.

As for the bit rate, you can set that when exporting as mp3. Check the format options in the Export Window, and choose "Constant" for Bit Rate Mode, and "128 kbps" for Quality. Then click Save to export and Audacity should keep these settings for all future exports.

Please make a new test recording, and post it here to check volume and bitrate again. Thank you!
