Hi Lydia,
You've almost got it. Just mix the tracks down from stereo to mono and you'll be all set.

I'm not sure how to do that. I have to use garage band instead of audacity. Do you know how?

No, I'm sorry I don't know GarageBand. You could try this link from our wiki but it's outdated: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=GarageBand

If that doesn't work you could always post the question in the Help forum: viewforum.php?f=23

I redid my one-minute test in an attempt to make it mono.

Hello Lydia,
I'm sorry but the recording is still in stereo. The volume is a little too high and could use a round of noise cleaning. Have you looked through any of the help threads? I found this one which may be able to help. Likemanywaters posted step by step directions for getting a mono file. I don't know if it still works given software upgrades.

No, I'm sorry, it's still in stereo.

Looks like I forgot to post the link I referred to in the above post. Anyway, here. If the instructions don't make sense then please do post in the help forum. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=73008

Okay, I did some reading in the help forum, and hopefully this has fixed the problem.

HA! You have a mono file!

You may now record for projects. We suggest starting in short works until you are comfortable with the editing process.

When you have some time please take a look at our wiki. It's a wonderful resource.

Have fun and thank you for contributing.
