Your sounding fantastic! But we have a few tech things to fix. I use reaper not logic so i can't tell you how to do it but i will tell you what to do.

Stuff that should be in the export menu:

1) Please change your bit rate stuff to 128 constant right now you have 160 variable.

2) We need mono files not stereo

3) Volume: We only accept 86-92 dB you are at 93.5.

Hop on over to Mp3gain express (there are other tools that you can use but this is what i use ) download it here http://projects.sappharad.com/mp3gain/

and the import your file Set the levels to 89dB in there and then click apply gain.

Once you do that you can reupload your test file and I'll take another listen.

Just post here if this is confusing!

Thanks for the feedback! I will poke around. I'm sure I can figure it out. I don't understand the GAIN part though. Shouldn't I just re-record and set the gain lower? Why do I need to load it into this other program?

thanks,
Sandra

So the gain program lets you fix the volume without re recording. Go ahead and use it now. I use it all the time so that my files are correct.

Ok, my husband is the boss in our studio and he doesn't want me downloading any new programs.

I recorded a new take...adjusting the volume, setting it to mono on the bounce, and using 128

Check it out

It's still in stereo but the volume and bit rate are correct. If you can change that to mono for me we will be good to go!

Ugh. Sorry about that. I will have to ask my husband for help. I thought I had figured it out! Thank you so much for your assistance. I can’t wait to get started.

Hi cowguy02!

I think I figured it out. The stereo/mono problem was a simple click of a button....but when bouncing the file to in mono, I discovered the volume had terrible peaks and troughs. So, I decided NOT to NORMALIZE the file. My only remaining concern is that now it may not be loud enough.

Let me know your thoughts, but I think I got it right this time.

Thanks
Sandra

Uh-oh the volume has not dropped to 63 dB

And the other bad news your still not in mono.

Have you considered audacity? Logic makes the mono thing really hard! They only do stereo it seems because its primarily for music. Try out audacity if you can. Other wise just google logic and mono and see if you can make it work. And also go back to normalizing. That is definitely something you need to do!

As always I'll be back when you re-upload :D

First off. I want to thank you for patience! I think I've got it this time! I can HEAR that it is in mono. I've gone back to normalizing....and everything else remained the same. Here goes:

No we still are in stereo. have you tried audacity? It makes the mono thing super easy. I don't know how one would do mono in logic however at the export menu you should have the option to mixdown to mono.

I'm not sure if this helps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8x4efDUf8qI
Obviously you'd only have one track, while this guy has 7. But I'm assuming the mono/stereo toggle would be the same.

Thanks. I've used all those toggles. Everything that I can find is set to mono. When I play it back in the program, it sounds mono. But after bouncing the file as an mp3, it automatically exports to stereo. There is something in the bounce process that alters it and I can't find a way to change that setting. I will have to learn to use audacity. I just wanted to give it one more try. I've been watching tutorials endlessly!

If you can do logic audacity will be a breeze. Super easy to use! Like everything is so clear. You won’t belive it

Hi! I'm back from vacation. Ok, I gave it a try and yes, Audacity is very easy to work with. I've recorded a new test.

Here we go!
