I turned the test script into a short story Lol.

I used Audacity. I think my reading was a little fast and I might need to slow down a bit. I would love some honest feedback thank you!

Wow, that was cool. Nice story. Just a few things to talk about first.

Firstly, your bitrate is a bit off. We need 128 kbps constant, yours is 87 variable. To fix this:
1.Go to export it (menu items file>export)
2. Select Export as MP3
3. Look under the Format Options section
4.Where it says 'Bit Rate Mode', select 'Constant'
5. In the 'Quality' drop down menu select 128 kbps.

I also heard a few plosives. No need to re record in this test, but in the future maybe orient your mic a bit differently so your breath doesn't hit it directly.

Once you fix this please re upload and post in this thread so I can take another look.

EDIT: Just realized you asked about speed. I didn't think it was too bad, slowing down wouldn't hurt but it is fine where it's at

Hi there. Sorry for the late response. I did not get notified since this was in another thread. Anyways, I looked again and it still seems to have the incorrect bit rate. Did you make sure to export/upload the new one?

I did change the bit rate the second time around. I’ll re record the test again and upload it this evening and see if that helps. Thank you

I see you have been working on this big first step, so I'll keep holding your reserved section of "The Daisy Chain" for a couple more weeks. :)

Hi again, Lmlitz. I'm not sure if you are still thinking of recording, so in a few days I will go ahead and open your tentatively reserved section in "The Daisy Chain" unless I hear back from you. I know how life can get busy and interrupt a new project like setting up for LibriVox recording. You can always come back and look for an open chapter when ready with your 1-minute test!
