Hello! Please listen to my test. Appreciate any feedback. I'm using Audacity and a snowball mic. Thanks! ~ Nikki

Hello Nikki!
Welcome to Librivox!

Your sound is great but a bit quieter than desired. See if you can increase the microphone's input volume, so that visually in Audacity you'd get a waveform peaking just above the 0.5 mark

Regarding the tech specs, do you have "mono" selected? I get your recording in stereo (double track). Check from menu Edit -> Preferences, Devices, Recording, Channels: 1 (Mono) should be selected.
Then about the bit rate, check the Options when you export as mp3. The bit rate mode should be "Constant", and the quality "128kbps".
There's another option there "Force export to mono"; you can have activated just in case.

When you're ready, please upload a new test, and we'll check again the volume and the tech specs :D
Feel free to ask if there are any questions
