Hi,
It's been a long time since I last read for librivox but looking forward to getting started again.
I've done a new, one minute test. Using Audacity on a PC with a USB mic.

But you obviously still remember what to do ;) PL OK.

The only thing which bothered me a bit was that noise in the background, a very high, chirping sound as if something turned nearby. I don't think it has anything to do with the PC; is there some mechanical thing going around and around and... ?

It would make listening still more pleasant if that thing could be avoided somehow.

Hi Moniaqua,
Thanks for that. I live in the tropics now and I was wondering if I'd be able to get away with having the ceiling fan on. I couldn't hear it - but that might have been because the noise on the recording was being covered by the noise of the fan in the room when I listened!
I might experiment with the air con on instead as that should be easier to remove in Audacity.
