Hello, I'm not sure about this. I've done the one minute test but I only have an android tablet. Audacity is not available. Please let me know how I can improve. Thanks so much

Welcome at LibriVox, Treefairy. :)

All wonderful, only the volume is a bit too low. We aim at 89 dB (within a range of 86 to 92 dB), your recording has 83 dB
Maybe this thread helps you a little bit about finding software, if you don't have a PC: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=66246

Please edit your file and post the link to the upload here in the thread again, thank you :)

I posted this as a reply to my original test post but I don't think it was seen.

:hmm:
Have you incidentally uploaded the same file? This one has exactly the same volume as the other one. The only difference I find is that there is a little bump in there that wasn't in the other upload.

I hope this is better. I used Lenix audio editor as suggested in the link. Thanks for that. I seem to be having so much trouble just increasing the volume. This being the start of my audio editing education, it's only up from here. :)

Here is another in case the normalizing in the previous link didn't do it. This time I used the amplifier. I hope it worked.

You are very creative with the names (only the forum name is missing which makes me a bit confused with the other tests I have on my PC) so I hope I get the mapping right :)
ist the one that works, volume is inside the range, only a bit of noise that doesn't bug too much, so I can safely give you the pl ok for this test.
Is just a little bit too loud.

I think with estimating the wave forms if shown in your app you can come very close to the volume we need, inside the range, so that should be ok and you can go and record.

Lately I saw a thread about recording on a phone that might apply to your tablet as well; I wanted to link it here in the thread but right now I am to tired too find it. Maybe you succeed better :) In any way, have fun recording. :)
