Hello Librivox,

Here's my 1-minute test: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_bkb587.mp3

PC: Windows 10
Mic: Analog (Scarlett 2i2 interface)

Any feedback is welcome, I appreciate any advice/input that will help with recording and delivering a quality voice.

Thanks,
Brian

Hello Brian,

Thanks for the test. It sounds rather nice. The volume is just right. You have a nice voice, which is rendered rather well with your setup.

There is only one thing you'll need to fix about the test. The MP3 needs to be exported with constant bitrate of 128 kbps. Yours is variable.

All you need to do is to re-export your recording (hopefully you've kept it) and this time find the "Bitrate Mode" setting and choose "Constant" and in "Quality" choose 128 kbps. BTW, those settings will be retained for all your future MP3s, so you won't need to tweak them again for LibriVox.

Once you have the MP3, re-upload it just like you did before and post a reply here, with a link.

Perfect, Brian!

You are ready for LibriVox.

An admin will eventually stop by to mark this thread with an OK, and you can already go to our "Readers Wanted" forums and find a group project or a couple, and read away!

Happy recording! :)
