Greetings All! Just uploaded my 1 Minute Librivox Test. It'll be interesting to get the feedback as I've never done this before. :D

hello EziFreda :) welcome to the forum

you have already started with a very good test recording. The technical settings are all correct and your reading is clearly understandable.

Our checker program flagged this as having excessive background noise, but actually listening with my earphones, I don't hear anything too disturbing, so I'm willing to over-ride the checker's verdict for this test. I'll mark it OK  and you're ready to participate in any project that might strike your interest.

Just in case you want to practice noise-cleaning after all, here is how you can do it in Audacity:

> select a small portion where you don't speak (usually at the end of your file, that's why we usually don't cut off so abruptly, it's always good to let the recording run for a bit after speaking)
> go to Effect - Noise Cleaning
> first select Get Noise Profile
> then highlight the entire recording
> again Effect - Noise Cleaning
> now select OK

If you wish you can reupload once more, but your test is ok in any case, so I hope you have fun on the forum :)
