Hello Andreea, welcome to the forum :)

I see you immediately started with a wonderful poem recital. :9: Very nicely narrated, you have a clear diction and a lot of sensitivity in your voice. Perfect for poetry, so it was a good choice.

The technical details are all ok, however your volume is clearly not loud enough. I barely heard your voice ;) It was under 73 dB and we need something in the range of 86 to 92 dB.

Make sure you crank up the input volume of your microphone to the maximum. Also check in Audacity, that the slider next to the microphone icon is all the way up towards the plus sign.

1) Now we can boost the volume of your test in Audacity, you do not need to re-record. Do the following:

> highlight your recording
> go to Effect
> go to Amplify
> input 15 (yes it was a lot  ) in the first slot (amplification dB)
> press ok

2) Now of course the background noise has also been amplified by 15 and needs to get cleaned a bit. For this, do the following:

> select a small portion where you don't speak (usually at the end of your file)
> go to Effect
> go toNoise Cleaning
> first select Get Noise Profile
> then highlight the entire recording
> again Effect - Noise Cleaning
> now select OK

Can you correct these two things please and reupload in this thread so I can have a second listen ? If anything is still unclear, don't hesitate to ask. :)

Thanks

Sonia
