Welcome!

It's ALMOST all correct.

Bit rate is variable; it needs to be 128 constant. This is set when you export to MP3. When you go to export, on the screen where you enter the file name for the MP3, change the Bit Rate mode to Constant, and the quality should be 128 kbps. You should only have to set it once; it'll remember the setting until you change it again.

Try making this adjustment, then post another quick test in this same thread, so we can double check the setting.

Thank you for such a quick and informative reply!
I hope I did it right this time: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_juliamikheeva.mp3
Also, when I'm listening to the recording I can hear some scratching noises in the background. They're very quiet, but still, maybe I should try to eliminate them.

Bit rate is correct now. :)

Volume is a little lower on this one; it's OK, but try not to get any quieter.

I didn't hear the scratching, but I was listening on my laptop, which doesn't have the best speakers. :)
