Hi all,

Thanks for taking the time to check out the quality of my test clip. Here it is:

https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_azaadactor.mp3

I am using Audacity on my Windows laptop, and a Samson Q2U USB mic.

Thanks again in advance for your feedback and help!

I reviewed your test sample and some changes are needed. LibriVox requires audio that is 128kb constant bit rate, mono, and between 86db and 92db, preferably 89-90. Everything in your sample is correct, however the volume is only 82.9db.

Turn up the recording volume on your Samson mic so that the peaks of your wave forms are at about the 0.5 marks.

You can verify your audio yourself by downloading the free Checker app: https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/

Please record a new test with the same file name and post it as a reply. I’ll return and review it for you.

Thank you so much for the feedback and the resource. Here is my update:

I used Checker and it seems to fall within the volume range. Hope the settings are up to par.

Thanks again!

Sounds good and meets all the specs. You are good-to-go. Happy narrating!
