Hi Samantha and welcome to Librivox! You have a great reading voice! We just have a couple of technical issues to fix and then you will be good to go!

First, the recording should be in mono sound, not stereo sound.  You can fix that by bring up the recording and going to Edit - Preferences - Devices - Channels - Mono and then selecting OK.

The volume falls outside of the target range we have which is (86–92 dB). We aim for 89 dB and you are at 84.3 dB which is just a bit too low. So with the recording highlighted (Ctrl - A) or use the Select button on the left side of where the recording is - go to Effect - Amplify and enter in 4.7 which is 89 - 84.3 which is where you are right now. Then press OK.

Now when you go to Export to MP3 there are 3 things you need to do - the cool thing is when you set these they will be remembered when you do your next recordings (along with the mono above) so you will not have to repeat this! All of them are in the lower half of the window below where you enter the file name. Set the Quality to 128 kbps (from the drop down) and then select the Constant bit rate. Last, check the box Force Export to mono and now Save!

Please upload this new file as you did before and paste it to this thread so I can check out your progress. If you have any issues please let me know!

Hi! Sorry for taking a while to respond, but I did what you told me to do to the audio, yet for some reason the file won't upload. It's saying that the type of file I'm trying to upload isn't compatible, but it's an mp3. Any advice? Thanks :)
