The following was recorded on Audacity using a Windows operating system. All sound was recorded by a USB mic. Please tell me what you think!

Hi Megan!

Thanks for sending in your recording - you have a nice clear voice!

Your recording is done well and is at the correct volume level - yeah! You do seem to have some background noise though - is your mic a headset or one on the table next to your computer fan? I could not actually make out what the noise was but it sounded like something was running nearby. You just need to be aware that some noise is being picked up in your recordings - that is all.

There are two things that do need to be fixed which are really easy to do and once they are set they will stay that way. Both are on the Export window below where you enter the file name. If you bring up the recording you sent in and select Export - Export to MP3 - one is in the drop down you need to pick 128 kbps as the bit rate and the other is you need to click on Constant, just above where you picked 128 in the dropdown. Now, enter your file name, select OK to save the file. Go ahead and upload it now and post the new link here for me.

I look forward to checking your last settings before you will be good to go!

Lynda

I hope this is better! Thank you so much for the feedback. As for the background noise, I believe I was doing laundry at the time, so it may have been that in the background. I'll make sure both machines are off the next time I record.

Okay - that sounds perfect except the rumbling in the background! I can see how it can be a laundry machine :)

You are good to go - all your other technical settings are awesome! Just refrain from double tasking with the laundry when recording...

Have fun reading books for LV!
