The reading is fine but it is a stereo file so you need to convert it to mono. It is also a little too high gain at 90.9dB so you need to bring it down by 2 dB (-2dB).

If you could correct those things and re-submit it will be fine. If you need further help just ask.

Peter (Lurcherlover).

Hello Bot,

As Peter has advised you in the other thread, your recording is in stereo. To get an existing recording into mono you use 'Tracks -> Mix -> Mix Stereo down to Mono'. To make your future recordings in mono you need to set the number of channels to 1 (Mono) in Preferences -> Devices -> Recording.

When you manage to make a mono recording, please re-upload and post a reply here or in the other thread.

Great. Now your test is good.

Please download and install Checker so you can validate your own MP3 before you upload them. Hopefully all you'll need to keep your eye on is the volume (on the Information page). All other settings (number of channels, samples per second, MP3 bitrate) Audacity and its plugins will keep the same for you.

You are ready for LibriVox.

No need for you to wait for an admin, go to "Readers Wanted" and find a group project to join. Read its first post carefully and claim a section or a few.

Happy recording!

Sorry - I seem to have duplicated an answer to this test - I think we must have reacted at about the same time. I will let you continue.
