Welcome, thank you for your test! You have a nice voice to listen to :D

All the settings are correct in your test, and there is just one issue to fix:
the volume is too soft. We aim for a volume of 89dB, but generally accept anything between 87 and 91dB. This recording is around 72dB now. If you can increase your input volume, that would be the best/easiest. You can adjust the input volume in your recording software (if you're using Audacity, there is a slider button next to the microphone: slide it further to the right), in the OS, and on some microphones. I would try that first. Then, if the volume still needs adjustment, one can amplify in the recording software. In Audacity, it goes like this: Select the whole recording. Click Effect > Amplify and the Amplification: 17dB (well, it depends on the volume of the recording you're starting out with, you just do 89dB - [the volume of your recording] = how much you need to amplify by).

If you'd like to check the volume on the recording yourself, many of us use the Checker, a handy little tool developed just for this :)

Please try to see if you can record with a higher input volume and/or amplify this one, save, upload again and post in this thread. I look forward to hearing you again

Awweee thank you :D thats really made my day.

i am using audacity and the slider is up at 80db and im sitting three inches away from my mic. i have no idea why its so quiet, but your adivce on amplifying worked but as a result also amplified the static in the silence at the end. ive reduced that and kept my voice volume higher please see the new upload:

This is good! You can head over to the Readers Wanted forum(s) and claim a section or two that looks interesting :)

Is that all the way to the right? If not, you can try bumping it up a bit :) Or you can just amplify and use noise reduction, as you did on this one. That works just fine
