Greetings -

Welcome to LibriVox. Lots of fun with lots of interesting people.

Some quick notes on Chapter 13:

The recording level is at 82.8 dB which is below our limit of 86.

There needs to be at least five seconds of silence at the end of the recording.

TIME: 01:03 There is a "bump" background noise.

TIME: 04:35 Repeat of the word "past".

TIME: 15:47 Noticeable pause in the middle of the word "ejaculated".

Otherwise, sounding good MickeyMac.

njgorgen has given us three chapters (5, 7, and 8) which are all PL OK except for one correction needed:

Chapter 8:

TIME: 04:37 COMMENT: The phrase "And we ran into snow" is repeated.

Thank you for your interest in this project.

We do, however, request that our new readers first complete a one-minute test recording to check out all of your technical specifications and any reading issues.

New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!

Here is a direct link to instructions for the one-minute sample recording:
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test

Among the useful information there you will find instructions for completing your test recording. Once you have the "OK" on that, post again here and you are free to record for this project. Let us know how you would like to be credited in the LibriVox catalog - real name, pseudonym or other nickname.

I see you have the OK on your test recording, so I just need to know how you would like to be listed in the LibriVox catalog -- real name, pseudonym, or any nickname you wish. This is how you will be credited for all of your LV work.

Great!
I've added you to the LibriVox catalog and assigned you Section 11.
Just click on your name in the Magic Window to view your personal reader page. This is where you can track all of your LV projects, of which I hope there will be many!

Greetings -

Here are some notes for Chapter 21:

The opening silent period needs to be one second long and the one at the end of the recording needs to be five seconds long.

The audio level is high at 94.6 dB and needs to be lowered to 92 dB.

TIME: 03:44 TEXT: "of snow on the Sierra Nevada" There is a slight repeat of "Nevada".

TIME: 05:13 TEXT: "and the rider from Red Buttes with" I don't normally comment on pronunciation but need to make an exception here. In this case, "butte" is pronounced like the beginning of beaut-iful.

TIME: 08:28 TEXT: "stock at Horseshoe." There is a slight repeat of "Horseshoe".

TIME: 10:00 TEXT: "I’ve got the run between Red Buttes" See comment above. Also at 11:41

Hang in there, MickeyMac. Most folks have a few problems with the initial learning curve.
