LOL, Larry, I'd be happy to MC this for you. I saw this come out in PG and I thought ... what do tractors have to do with cooking? I never realized that IH made refrigerators as well.

And as for Irma, not surprising that you didn't find any info on her. She's listed as a Home Economist for IH, so probably an ordinary working woman who didn't realize that 70 years later folks would still be reading her cookbook!

I found info that she's a fake, just a fictional marketing front-man (err, front-woman) for International Harvester's refrigerators. ;)

So cool that you found that page!
It is what I surmised, and we've run into this in other recipe books, which was common in that area, the most famous of whom was Betty Crocker, of course.
