First Corinthians, Young's Literal Translation

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/1st-corinthians-youngs-literal-translation/
The First Epistle to the Corinthians was written by the Apostle Paul, after having established the church in Corinth. In it, he responds to a letter written to him by the church, addressing some errors and controversies that have arisen in the church. Among the topics are divisions within the church; immorality; marriage; Christian liberty; and the doctrine of the resurrection. (Summary by TriciaG)

Thank you. I am so glad that I snagged them! These are some of favorite passages of scripture from the New Testament. I hope that I will do them justice. Be of good cheer. KLA

Not to confuse things, but I think I'm already in for Chapters 1 and 2. Just noticed that Chapter 2 was included in a subsequent claim. I've just recorded those two chapters

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/firstcorinthians_02_ylt_128kb.mp3 2:40

In fact, I got carried away and recorded Chapter 3 as well, since there was no other claim for it:

No, chapter 2 wasn't claimed twice; it was a typo for chapter 12 (missed copying over the leading 1). :)

Thanks for the sections! I was planning on doing housework today, and I really should prioritize that over PL'ing, so it may take a day for me to finish these.

Chapter 1:

0:22 - please add "Chapter 1". (It sounds like it's missing! I've fixed the first post to add it.)

1:02 (vs 6) - "according as the testimony of the Christ" - I hear "testimony of Christ"

2:11 (vs 15) - "that no one may say that to my own name" - I hear "to my name"

2:29 (vs 17) - "that the cross of the Christ" - I hear "cross of Christ"

I'll get to the other two after supper. :)

Chapter 2:

0:19 - please add "Chapter 2". :)

1:14 (vs 8) - "if they had known, the lord of the glory" I hear "the lord of glory" (is this being picky? All those extra the's in the YLT!)

Chapter 3:

0:15 - please add "Chapter 3"

2:17 (vs 17) - "If any one the sanctuary of God doth waste" - I hear "one of the sanctuary" (no "of")

3:03 (vs 23) - "and ye are Christ's" - I hear "and ye are Christ". This is a hard word to say, but I do think it needs to be clearer (to be a possession of Christ, rather than being Christ himself).
