I would say that the vast majority of us use Audacity. It is free, full of features and relatively easy to use. There are other who use one of the other audio programs, so it is a matter of personal preference. Most of our tutorials are based on Audacity, so there is a lot of support for it.

Just let us know if you need any help along these lines,

Well, these are quite long sections to take on as your first recordings, but if you feel you're ready, you're welcome to read these for us. Please let us know how you would like to be listed in the LibriVox catalog -- real name, pseudonym, or any nickname you wish. This is how you will be credited for all of you LV work

Welcome aboard!

Will do, thank you. I'm using my real name, so Andrew Frame for credits.

Thanks, Stephen. It was great, well-read.

There's just two technical points I need to ask you to kindly fix:

1. The overall volume is coming at about 84.4dB, which is below the Librivox accepted range (86-92dB). Luckily, it's a quick fix. If you amplify the whole audio up about +2dB it should be safe.
2. There needs to be 5 seconds of silence at the end, I believe yours had about 1-2 seconds of silence. Again, that should be a really quick fix.

If you need help with any of that, feel free to PM me.
Everything else was great. If you could make those changes at your leisure, and then reupload the file with the same filename, then I can spot check it and mark it PL OK!
