Welcome to LibriVox! Chapters 1-3 are yours, thank you! Please make sure to do your one minute test before you start recording. It is just so that we can make sure your settings are where we need them to be, which will make life much easier for you! What name would you like credited on your catalog page?

Use this link and Image to upload your recording (we use an image for the password so that bots don't harvest it). The directions are on that page, just follow those and you should be good. Make sure to send it to my folder, which is icequeen, and make sure that the file is an mp3 file. Let me know if you have any problems.

ETA: Also, make sure to copy the link the uploader generates and paste it into a new post in this thread. (I knew I forgot something!)

I don't know which software program you are using, but if you are using one of the latest versions for Audacity, here is a YouTube video that goes through the process of downloading Audacity and how to export a recording.

Is it possible to volunteer for PLing? It seems more possible to do during a busy day, no converting or fancy tech required.

Well, actually, I’m using Voice Memos. I don’t have any special app.

You could. Normally I PL my own projects, but I am always willing to let someone else do it. But, since you are new to LibriVox, there are a few things that you need to do first.

Check out this link, this will tell you what is involved in proof listening.

You will also have to access the workflow system, which powers the Magic Window (MW). for the first time. This document gives you the instructions on how to do that. Please let me know if you have any problems getting into the MW. I can usually solve whatever problems come up pretty quickly.

Also, are you giving up your sections here and in my other project? Let me know if you are, so that I can open them up for other readers. I totally understand about all the tech stuff, it can be overwhelming to start recording audiobooks for LibriVox. Maybe once you are feeling comfortable with the tech stuff involved with proof listening, which is not a lot, then you can move into recording. It is up to you, we have many people who only proof listen, and we can always use more of them!

I mean just in general, how does it work? I’m not saying to take over the project, just in future can that be a possibility?
