Sure, that'll be great!
Thanks Verla
Two questions.

1. Was the table of contents purposely omitted?

2. Should the reader say "Chapter X" before the chapter title, or is the fact that they've given the section number in the intro sufficient?

Thanks,
Verla

Time: 11:54

Thanks
Hi Blondon -

Reading sounds good.

At :35, please read the full section heading so the reader/listener can keep track as they go along.
"Part 2, Classification. Number 1, General."

Checker is showing that you need a correction on sampling rate, which should be 44.1 kHz.

You can run it through Checker yourself to make sure it's been corrected, then repost. If you haven't found Checker yet, take a look at https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker

Thanks!

I would take sections 0-3 and see how that goes.

Let me know what you think.

Hi Yuqing - I will tentatively commit to DPL; I'm starting out behind, but I think once I catch up it will be ok. If I have to holler for help I will, but for now you can take off the ~ .

My name for the catalog - Larry Dahlke
Amy, can you help him add his catalog name, please? I don't think there's anything I can do for that.
Thank you!
Hi,
Larry's name is updated in the catalog now.
Thanks!

That's right. I don't find it particularly meaningful for our listeners, who can figure our which sections may interest them from the section headings or the online text itself, if they are not going to sit through the whole book.
vviera wrote: September 11th, 2021, 9:25 am 2. Should the reader say "Chapter X" before the chapter title, or is the fact that they've given the section number in the intro sufficient?
No need! I edited the first post on purpose to avoid confusing chapter headings.
vviera wrote: September 11th, 2021, 9:25 am Also, please, guidance on mispronounced words?
If you think it's clearly a matter of accents, then there's no need to point it out.
Otherwise, please don't let it pass, especially if the mispronunciation hinders interpretation on the listener's part.

Thanks for checking in
Do note that you are allowed (and the very person) to change PL status in the MW, by the way!

Hi Heather -
You have really good diction. Every consonant crisp. :)

Please check out the pronunciation of "centrifugal" by clicking on the speaker icon here:
https://www.dictionary.com/browse/centrifugal

It appears at 2:39 (p. 17 of pdf, last paragraph). Please rerecord that sentence or paragraph and repost your URL.

Thanks,
Verla

I don't see the way to change PL status. Could you please explain? Thanks, Verla

You can click on the BC Admin link (https://librivox.org/section_compiler/16832) right below the embedded Magic Window in the first post.

If you encounter any problems after that, do check out this useful guide https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=DPLs:_How_to_Update_the_Magic_Window !

You may want to double check with Amy, our MC, whether she has given you DPL status if none of those steps work!

Section 39 recording uploaded to: https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/wordassociation_39_jung_128kb.mp3

Length: 56:46
Hi Steve - Here are the PL notes

--Reduce silence at the beginning to between .5 and 1 second.
--Part of the intro is repeated - :30 and :39
--24:53 Pronunciation of "Schadenfreude" Click the speaker icon on this page to hear it said:
https://www.dictionary.com/browse/schadenfreude
--Leave 5 sec. of silence at end of recording.

It is like you have an inner metronome! Your rendering is so rhythmic on the tables.

Please fix up and repost, including revised time. I will be working on your other sections soon.

Thanks,
Verla

PL notes:
1:51 (pdf 232 at #19) and 5:23 (pdf 233, last paragraph) - pronunciation of "neologism." Click on speaker icon here to hear it said:
https://www.dictionary.com/browse/neologism

3:24 (pdf 233 at #25) - "peculiarly" sounds garbled
8:55 (pdf 235 #47) the word "Basile" got cut off in the middle
18:27 you say "reader's note - using slower speech" It sounds like you may have put that in there as a way to mark something you wanted to go back to? Please remove.

Nothing to change, but just as a note if you do more sections - there were a number of times when you said "association" rather than "associations."

Thank you,
Verla

Hi Amy, I saw that I'm shown now as DPL, but when I click on the BC Admin link, I get error message "You don't have permissions for this area."

What do I need to do? Yuqing pointed me to the how-to-dpl wiki, so I think I can figure it out if I can just get in!

Hi Steve - Here are the PL notes
I should also have given you a tip, since this is your first one, to start with the latest edit and work backwards to the beginning so that the time stamps don't change. Good luck!
