Welcome to Librivox. I really enjoyed your reading, especially the bird calls. Cute! I know you have done a couple of other readings, but there are a few things on this that we need to look at:
The reading it's self was well done, however at :48 is chimney swift. You added the word “a” between 'is' and 'chimney'
and at :30 there is something that I can't figure out what you are saying. You said the intro perfectly, except for that word (?) at :30
At the beginning, there should be a silent space of .5 to 1 second. You have a little over two seconds.
It appears that you forgot to use the Noise Reduction 'Effect' on this. There is a huge amount of background noise in this. I was able to fix it by running it through Noise Reduction twice. In case you aren't familiar with this, this is how to use it. 'Select' the 'blank space' at the end of your recording (the 5 seconds) Go to "Effect" on the bar at the top of Audacity (I am assuming you are using that), click on Noise Reduction. When the box comes up, click on "Get Noise Profile". Then select your entire recording, then go to Noise Reduction again, and this time click on "OK". It will take a few seconds, but it will use the sample you selected and take that sound out of all of the recording. In your case, the noise was so deeply embedded that I had to do this twice to get the noise down to a level that would be acceptable. The 'background' noise 'acceptable' level is below 40db and preferably between 25 and 35.
The way to find out what you noise level is is to use the "Checker" tool. Here is a link that will tell you about it and how to get it. https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker Checker also tells you what the volume level is of your recording. The Librivox 'range' is 86-92 db with a goal of 89. Yours, after running it through Noise Reduction is 87.1 That is with in the range, but kind of low. If you use "Amplify" under the Effect tab you can raise the volume of your recording. Select all of your recording, go to Amplify and type "2" into the box at the top that is highlighted in blue, and then click "OK". That should raise the volume to about right.
Then upload it and then post the new link here in this forum, and I will listen to it again. Good luck. Keep it up. It sounds kind of daunting at first, but we all had to learn it, and the results are worth the effort.

You may certainly have section 8.
Welcome to LibriVox. May you find it as enjoyable as I have.
Before I can put you in the MW for 8 I need to know under what name you would like to appear in the LibriVox catalog. You can use your forum name, your real name, or some other nickname.
Thanks,
M

Chapter 8 has several photos with captions. Do you describe the photos and read the captions? Or do you just ignore both the photos and the captions?
