Section 6

Contains some messy edits, I'm afraid. I confused 'voltameter' with 'voltmeter.' Let me know if I should try again.

Thanks, Kevin.
I'll have my eyes open for Volta-/Volt-
I won't get a chance to PL this until tomorrow morning.
I'm confident that everything will turn out fine.

Thank you, Kevin.
Those messy edits were rare to find. I was on the look-out for voltmeter appearing where VOLTAMETER ought to used. I detected a couple of VOLTAMETERs. There *is* a difference between VOLTAMETER and voltmeter. I think that the modern ammeter is used where Faraday's VOLTAMETER would have been used. (The foregoing text is an emulation of your edits. :D )

There was a trio of legitimate faux pas:
2:16 in footnote heard "we CANNOT hardly divest..."
s/b: "we CAN hardly divest..."

5:19 heard "The quantity of electricity <...> concludes is proportional"
s/b "The quantity of electricity HE concludes is proportional"

6:36.5 Heard "Definite Electro-chemical COMPOSITION."
S/b "Definite Electro-chemical DEcomposition."

All in all, I am again envious of your "mellifluous vocal instrument", as my choral director wife would say. Thank you for your contribution!

Why, thank you. Nice voice or not, it's my brain that isn't working it seems. I'll make the corrections today!

You certainly may!
Thanks for joining our merry band.

Note, too, that I have another Faraday project running, too: "On the Various Forces Of Nature."

Section 15 - PL NOTES:
Thank you Real!
I admire the way you project your own confident grasp of the material.
There are a small number of places where the left side of your brain has pushed out of your speaking apparatus different prepositions from what was written. In English, this is often doesn't make a difference. These two instances display this ambiguity of language:
3:34 heard "BUT the exertion of a certain pull..."
S/b "BY the exertion of a certain pull..."

5:09.5 heard "IN exerting a certain definite pull"
S/b "OF exerting a certain definite pull"

And there are a couple of other instances, BUT I AM NOT MARKING THESE AS SERIOUS ERRORS.

However THIS one is:
19:17 repeat of "are sure to form the body"

Fix this last thing a your file will be good to go.

Thank you again.

Kalamareader wrote: June 6th, 2021, 7:23 pm Hi There,

I was pointed here by Michele, and I would like to claim Section 17.

Here at long last is Chapter/Section 17 https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/faraday_17_tyndall_128kb.mp3

Thanks,
Wayne
Thank you Wayne.
I enjoyed the touching way you delivered Tyndall's most nostalgic lines.
Bravo  !
I noticed a couple of divergences from the test, however:

1:45 heard "immediately forefathers.."
s/b: "immediate forefathers.."

8:02 heard "i.e. of allotropic ozone."
s/b "i.e. of allotropic oxygen."

16:05 heard "and I DEPRECIATED her decision"
S/B "and I DEPRECATED her decision"

17:30 heard "rendered his counsel particularly precious"
s/b "rendered his counsel peculiarly precious"
-- Bill Jones

You always have the kindest things to say. I ought to learn how to do that.

3:34 heard "BUT the exertion of a certain pull..."
fixed
S/b "BY the exertion of a certain pull..."

5:09.5 heard "IN exerting a certain definite pull"
fixed
S/b "OF exerting a certain definite pull"

EEK OMG WHAT ARE THEY? meh. never mind.

First, I couldn't figure out how I missed the post about the corrections needed for over two weeks. I just went back through all the posts here and the one by Michele noted above doesn't show up anywhere.

Second, I can't believe I missed all those when I did my own PL. That is why we have PLers.

Third, some of these corrections are better than others, but I think they will all be acceptable.

So, here it is: https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/faraday_17_tyndall_128kb.mp3

Time 36:52

Thanks,

Wayne

P.S. Michele, thanks for the referral and the kind words. :9:
