Recorded this after Phil 3 of Spain bio, so sound a bit Bette Davis in parts.
Another nice section, Deborah!
Could it be that you uttered these two tiny slips below just to prove you were not super-human?
2:32 Heard "Gol-von-oh-meter" S/b "Gal-vi-Nomm-a-ter"
7:40 heard "liquid composition" s/b "liquid compound"
Thank you!

Thank you Deborah for a pair of delightful recitations.
Ready to take on a couple more sections??

It's time for you to select another section to record. I hope you will.

I need someone to PL this short section. Volunteers?
Tyndall describes a rare instance in which Faraday falls prey to the indulgent laziness of saying to himself "Hmmmmm.... Sounds good to me." and doesn't follow up with experimental proofing.
When my children were young and beyond the "Mother Goose" stage, I'd pass science books in front of them and sometimes do experiments. With regards to Faraday's abiding concern for electricity and electric current, I performed with them a test (like Faraday should have done): "An electric current is just a bunch of electrons moving from point-A to point-B, right?" I rhetorically asked them. "Sure!" they replied. So, I put this further question to them: "What's different about electrical conductors vs non-conductors? Ain't no electrons moving around in the latter, right?"
Then, finally, I asked "What's different about solids (like ice) and liquids (like water)? Well, in the former, the atoms and molecules are more locked together, making them rigid. Right? and in the liquid water, the atoms and molecules are freer to move around. Right?"
"So, if we put one of the probes of our ammeter into an icy portion of one of our ice cube trays in the freezer and the other probe into the still-liquid area of that same ice cube tray there will be electrons trying to get free from the ice and into water. That is, there would be a greater density of electrons in the ice compared with the water, so there would be an electrical potential and current seen at our two probes and we'd see it displayed on the ammeter."
We took out a few ice cubes in one of the ice cube trays, inserted the two ammeter probes between the ice and water...
and saw...
... and SAW!!!
... Oh my Gawd!
... Nothing.
My kids consoled me and offered: "It's all right, Daddy. We just need a better ammeter."

section 15?
Section 15 is yours.
The title is ominous, yes?
I have no doubt that you'll wrestle the material to the ground and make it cry "Uncle!"
Thank you.

"It's all right, Daddy. We just need a better ammeter."
============
1:02- "Extended Nature" vs. "External Nature"
1:10 - "...withdrawn from the feelings..." should be: "from the region of the feelings"
2:58 - "...and not THE metallic contact.." should not have "the" (but that is picayune).
3:09 - Fabroni AND Wollaston -- missing "and" (not so picayune)
3:18 - Bequerel AND De laRive -- also missing "and" too
5:09 - "to enable the Voltaic spark to pass through THE air" -- should not have "the" before "air" (very picayune)
8:18 - "has heaped up in its own course" -- I heard "heaped upon its own course" (arguably picayune)
8:41 - "or the electric current: -- should not have "electric" (meaning is not changed)
10:09 - there was a harsh edit (needs some space before "so")
12:38 -"rendered THIS point" -- I hear "rendered THE point"
13:01 - "OF their new form" -- the word "of" was added and thus changed the meaning and the delivery.
A very pleasant listen indeed!
