May I read section 8? :)
Sure.
How would you like to be listed in the LibriVox catalog? Real name, pseudonym or any nickname you wish. This is how you will be credited for you LV work.

Have you worked out the issues on your test recording.
I would like to be listed as "Isobel", please.

Yes, I think so. Here is the file:

Greetings -

Welcome to LibriVox, castlesofivy. Just so you can't say you weren't warned :-), LV can easily become a hobby bordering on addiction.

You're off to a good start with Chapter 8. Just a couple of things that need attention.

The reading part was good with a clear voice; no complaints from your DPL.

Remember to keep the silent period at the beginning to around 0.5 seconds; so cut this one in half and it will be fine.

The volume level came in just a bit high at 93 dB with our limit being 92 dB.

Chop the opening silent period and suppress the audio a couple of dB and this one will be PL OK.

Hoping to listen to more from you in the future.

Silverquill has, indeed, jumpstarted us with Sections 00, 06, and 57 read in his well-practiced style.

In my younger days I was fascinated by American Railroads. Later I travelled from Chicago to Los Angeles on the Santa Fe Super Chief. It was like the fulfilment of a boyhood dream :)

Section 22 has lived up to alanmapstone's high standards and is now shown as PL OK.

As long as we are reminiscing about railroads and childhoods, in my earlier years, I had the opportunity to ride on some of the "City" trains such as the City of Los Angeles, City of San Francisco, City of Portland, City of Denver, and the City of New Orleans made famous by Arlo Guthrie. Fond memories.

If you would like to construct a model railroad of the Virginia and Truckee, take a look at https://www.trains.com/mrr/how-to/track-plan-database/ho-scale-virginia-and-truckee-rr/.

Greetings -

Welcome to LibriVox.

Section 46 was read well but has a couple of things that need attention:

At 01:02, the following was omitted: "or over a mile above the level of the sea, yet for eight months of the year the climate is pleasant. Where
the town now stands was formerly “Coburn’s Station,” on the old Dutch Flat wagon-road."

At 02:27, there is a noticeable pause in the middle of a sentence.

Fix these two and the section will definitely be PL OK.

Well, my intent was to limit claims to 3, until previous claims were completed, but I'll put you in for these.
