Thanks

I will put you in for Section 40.
Please let me know how you would like to be listed in the LibriVox catalog -- real name, pseudonym or any nickname or handle you wish. This is how you will be credited for all of your LV work.

Just one note on this:

At 1:59 the word "placer" should be pronounced with a short "a" (as in "passer")
I mention this because it does sound odd. Why this irregular pronunciation, I don't know, but I think it is worth correcting.

Thanks, Todd
Just one note:

At 2:03 the village of Placerville is pronounced with a short "a" is in "passer"

I've visited this town and I guess grew up in the western US and this is just common so didn't think to mention it in the reading instructions.

Same thing at 3:32 "placer mines."
And 4:30 "placer minings"

I think these are worth correcting.

Johann wrote: May 16th, 2021, 8:57 am Hello,

I have finished work on sections 4 and 5, and they are ready for proof listening.

https://librivox.org/uploads/icequeen/comstocksilverlode_05_dequille_128kb.mp3

Section 4 is 4:22 in length.

Section 5 is 2:51 in length.

(You may see both files uploaded twice. You can delete the first copy, the filename extension is wrong (".mp3.mp3"). Filename was corrected in the second upload.)

Thank you,

Johann
These are both PL OK.

All sections are very nicely read!
48 and 49 are gladly marked PL OK.

Section 47 needs a correction, however.

1:37 – 1:51 overly long pause then repeat of “on the occasion of a visit to it on a picnic excursion”

Hi Larry,

Section 31 @ 2:43

https://librivox.org/uploads/icequeen/comstocksilverlode_31_dequille_128kb.mp3

Thanks,
Tim
Good reading, but just two things to correct.

1) The opening silence is a bit too long. Needs to be less than one second, ideally 0.5 - 1.0
2) The volume is too low at only 84.3 dB. Our goal is 89 dB with an acceptable range of 86-91 dB

Please amplify this by about 4.5 - 5.0 dB, trim the opening silence and the upload with the same file length and then post the link and file length here again so we can check it.

Thanks so much!
