Thanks - Gini
Thank you, and no worries! :) I appreciate the quick turnaround. PL OK!

That would be great if you could read chapter 4. I've signed you up!
For the time being, I'll need a little more time than usual to PL sections that come in on weekdays. Thanks for your patience.

Section 1 - Life

https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/mauprat_01_sand_128kb.mp3
10.30

I am afraid my pronunciation of French names and book titles is pretty awful

George Sand is a writer whose life was as interesting as her books.

I am quite interested in George Sand, and have been since I read about her in a Chopin biography. It was nice to read one of her texts.

Thank you for section 1! It's PL OK! And the French pronunciations sound fine to me.

Indeed! I want to read her autobiography one of these days, but my to-read list is pretty long, so it's going to be a while.

Thank you! Just one quick thing: could you rename the file as https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/mauprat_06_sand_128kb.mp3? (For this project, since there are prefatory sections and chapters that had to be subdivided, section numbers don't correspond to chapter numbers. It takes some getting used to at first.) After that, it'll be PL OK!

Wow, you record fast! I take forever to finish my recordings.

I apologize for missing this at first - when you have a chance, could you rename this file as well to https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/mauprat_05_sand_128kb.mp3? Thanks!

Thank you for section 18 - it sounds great! There are just two minor changes to make:

- At 0:49, "never again was I," you say "never was I."
- The dB level is at 85.2 Could you amplify it a bit to somewhere within the target range of 87-92?

You probably know this, but I wanted to mention just in case: fixing a word change doesn't mean that you have to record the whole section over again! :D You can record just the phrase or sentence that you're replacing, copy it, and paste it in.

And here are some suggestions to keep in mind for future recordings:

- From time to time I'm hearing the volume get a little softer and then go back to normal (for example, "I was ignorant of the ways..." at 1:30). I'm not sure what could be causing this, but if you find that it keeps happening, you might find it worth asking about in the help forum. All the words are still audible, though, so there's no need to re-record when it happens in this recording.
- Occasionally I hear plosive sounds. Two things that often help readers reduce plosives are experimenting with mic placement or putting a piece of hosiery over the microphone. (I have a knee-high tied over my mic myself.)

Again, section 18 sounds very nice! The above suggestions are just things to keep in mind as you continue to record, but you don't need to change anything based on them for this file.

I discovered Sand via Chopin too! Marianne is one of my favorite novels of hers, if you have a chance to read it.

I'm so glad you said something because I wasn't noticing that with the chapters vs. sections! so here is section 5 (chapter 3)
