Chapter 11 is PL OK.

At last, a tour of Saltaire! Fascinating. And, this chapter mentions the name of another industrialist/philanthropist of the period, Sir Fairbairn, whose biography should be added to the LV catalog -- by you, me or someone. He is mentioned at Page 153 attending Salt's dinner party, and at 21:30 on the recording. Book details below.

Michele,

Here is Chapter 14. He was quite the guy with his money, as opposed to the Government who spends OUR money the way they want to.

How about 15. I don't want to get carried away and claim a bunch of stuff that I won't be able to finish.

6:54 the fearful ravages of the cholera, you say rages
14:05 a recent structure, you say regent

I really like The Peerage Of Industry poem. The whole chapter is outstanding.
I can't figure out how I missed this! Here is the amended Chapter 10:

Neither of these were really 'mis-reads' but were really just mumbles.

Thanks for your hard work.

Claim as many as you want Wayne. You're a pleasure to listen to, and the faster we finish this one, the sooner we get to the next one! :D

OK, you talked me into it. Just put me in for the rest. I will get them in as soon as possible. :D

And then I will have to listen to the last one just to get "the rest of the story".

P.S. Thanks for the kind words. :9:

PL Notes Chapter 13

A very sad chapter, Wayne, probably that's why from 1/4 of the way in to the end, it seems to drag a bit. I would recommend applying Effect/Tempo +2. It will still be soulful prose, but not so slow. (Your choice, of course)
3:12 On the road to Wakefield, slight stumble and you say Westfield
6:30 You have ever manifested, ever is missing
23:18 Mr. Balgarnie (should be pronounced Bal-gar'-nie as in First Post)
30:03 those who could not be accommo-dated, you say accomo-nated.

PL Notes Chapter 14

8:46 5,000 pounds, you say dollars
16:12 a public hall had also to be provided, also is missing.
19:31 the Cottage Hospital, you say College
19:21 the prim-itive Methodists, you say priv-itive
24:34 from the long-standing habit, you say long-stang
27:02 to whom a basket of beautiful flowers or fruits, to is missing

Mr. Salt reminds me so much of my Dad, who didn't have nearly so much money but gave so generously and helped so many throughout his long life, and always on the quiet.

Michele,

Finally, here is 15. Hopefully better than the last two. Last week I was out of town every day except Tuesday and Wednesday, and I had to do some things around the house.

Wow, that was a moving chapter and a fitting end for this book! Particularly so for me as I attended a big Catholic funeral yesterday. You read it well and with feeling. Thank you. Alas, I found a few errors that make sense to me to correct, but you know how picky I am.

1:47 Sir Titus Salt was dead, you say Thomas
9:45 as for the rows of almshouses, you say row (singular)
11:10 Within the edifice, you say evidence
20:33 creator of a new era, you say error.
22:11 freedom, breadth, you say breath
25:07 anything he planned or purposed, you say proposed. (Not sure this matters)
25:09 He rests amid the, I hear ressamid, a word I couldn't have ciphered without reading the text.
25:32 shines in the works of his hands. you say work (sounds more like manual labor than his ideas)
Corrections!

I cannot claim that 'breadth' sounds any better, however. Do have a listen, but I'm afraid that's all I can do.
