Hi there Michele,

It is interesting, I looked at this when it first came up, but with some prompting from somewhere, I looked further and it sounds absolutely amazing. For some reason, I thought it was a novel, but when it turns out to really be a bio, he seems like an amazing man. As I am not as ambitious as Rita  , I will just claim 7 and 8 if I might.

Thanks,

Wayne

So glad to have you on the project, Wayne. Salt is another Carnegie-like industrialist/philanthropist, in a way. 7 and 8 are yours.

Time: 18:26

Comments: I will get yours done a little later tonight. Have to go mow the lawn  .
I can't believe I "quoted" the wrong post of yours  .
As you listen to Chapter 7, see if you can hear the part that reminded me of Cheaper by the Dozen and the Sound of Music. :hmm:

Michele,

We have a little problem in the MW. I clicked on Rita's section 2 link (sorry), and your Chapter 9 is the link that is there as well as in the Chapter 9 spot.

Michele,

Wow! He was quite the guy. I often read chapters in books that kind of interest me, but this is one that I will be sure and listen to. I did a solo of "Confessions of a Tradesman". It was the tale of the ups and downs of a successful writer who also was a tradesman in the late 1800's England. Very similar kind of story from a very different level.
Well, on to the PLing.

I found three small things that you might want to look at:

6:51 the letters that he occasionally sent them were full of paternal love, You said parental. Minor difference, but it does kind of bring out the 'Father' thought. Your call.

18:43.5 Both porterage and carterage are entirely superseded, You said suspended.

19:02.5 That in which the mill now stands belonged to W. C. Stansfield, Esq., of Esholt, You said belongs

Good reading, as usual.

I know this isn't usually the way this is done, but may I claim Chapter 10? After doing 7 and 8 and listening to 9, I just have to do 10.

Thanks,

Wayne
