MightyMac wrote: April 26th, 2021, 2:43 pm One-minute test submitted to availle as book MC. I recorded on Audacity at recording volume 0.79, Rate 44100 Hz, and 1 Mono Channel. I did not editing prior to submission and await any advice tips on how to use Audacity :help: to remove any background noise (fuzz/buzz) or other options I can use to clean up my recordings.
Thank you, Michael (MightyMac)

Hi Michael and welcome to Librivox. Your reading is great there are just some edits needed please. If you are using Audacity you can do the following.

The bit rate should be 128 kbps. When you export the file change ‘quality’ to 128kbps.

The recording should use a constant bit rate. When you export the file change ‘bit rate mode’ to ‘constant’

The volume is 84dB which is too low. We aim for between 86-92 dB but ideally we would like it to be at 89 dB.
In Audacity you will also find the option to amplify under 'effects'.
How to amplify in Audacity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_z607awyLw
If you like you can use the checker tool to verify volume and other settings.

Please could you carry out the edits then upload the file using the same file name. If you need any more help please just ask. Thanks
Michele

Could I read section 4 please - one of the most famous Austrian generals!

Looking at the TOC, I think this is the theme of the book, even though it doesn't say so: military leaders. :)
Cheers, Ava.

availle,
Changes made as suggested by wib66. I downloaded and ran through checker and it said all was well with the file. I used amplify within Audacity to adjust volume levels to an acceptable dB, and saved at constant bit rate.
Hopefully, this is acceptable. Look forward to reading for Librivox.

Thank you, Cheers, Michael

Hi. Can I please claim section 25? (BTW, there's a typo in the grid above, it should read "Philip Henry Sheridan").
