No big deal since you were listening anyway.

I'll add your pronunciation links to the first post, if even Michael can't pronounce the Arabic words, I hope we're not in trouble here. :shock:
Cheers, Ava.

Okay, thanks.

Don't worry both of you have done an AWESOME job. Your sections are perfectly narrated. :clap:
Thanks, SaraHale. :D

Brilliant narration! You've done it perfectly. :9: I hope that I'll reach your level one day. :clap:

I have a tiny PL Note.

@28:00 - sufficient air, and permit an outlook without allowing. Missed the bold section.

As for those, they are extra, feel free to ignore them.
@18:27 - his own home. I hear house

@29:58 - but in old houses. I hear homes

I'm just mentioning them in case you want to correct them. But you don't have to because they pretty much mean the same thing.

I'm so looking forward to listening to part 2.
Thanks for the kind words, Sara! I've added the missing phase and fixed the strange home/house switcheroo while I was at it. :)

P.S. Happy LibriVox Anniversary. :birthday:
Thanks! In fact, I first registered at LV to help in choosing the edition for Aida's 1001 Nights project, and you guys made me feel right at house... if that is indeed the right word. :mrgreen:

Hi there Guernica,

sorry, I've missed this one...
I see you have submitted another section that had some technical issues. It has been posted over in "Listeners and Editors Wanted", and you have a response on how to fix your recording here:

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=87038

Please do these edits - they are necessary so we can use your files at all - and once you have received an [OK] on your test, please come back here and let me know.
In the meanwhile, I'll pencil you in for section 8; you have one month to complete your test.

Have fun on here! :D
Cheers, Ava.

Section 7 is up! Not too many names this time. But just enough to butcher them, so let me know. :wink:

Isn't Misr or Masr still the Arabic name for Egypt? I had no idea it would go back to a city that wasn't just yet Cairo...

Hey, Availle.

Sorry for being late. Yes, it is. Cairo is the capital of Egypt. It is interesting.

I really can't describe how well you do the recordings. You have this easy flow of words. I enjoy PLing your sections. I just have a few notes. You can ignore them if you like.

I've noticed that there are a few footnotes in this section but you've recorded only one. Is that how you wanted it?

Another thing, the pronunciation of "Kh". I know it is hard and tricky. So, if you don't want to fix it that's totally fine by me.

I've tried to record the pronunciation for you. https://voca.ro/17wckX9CUUM7

@1:53 - el-Khalangy

@03:50 - Khumaraweyh

@05:10 - Ikhshid.

@06:03 - Ikhsid's

@06:15 - Ikhshid

@06:34 - Ikhsid's

@07:02 - el-Khalaty

@07:23 - Ikhshid

@07:54 - 8000 mamluks I heard 800

@08:10 - Ikhshid

@08:32 - Ikhshid

@09:29 - Ikhshid

@10:00 - Ikhshid

@10:38 - Ikhshid

@11:42 - Ikhshid

@12:37 - Ikhshid

@16:30 - Ikhshid

@18:35 - el-Bakar

@18:42 - Ikhshid

@20:18 - Ikhshid

@21:40 - el-Bashtary

@31:49 - Nasir-i-Khursau

@37:21 - Nasir-i-Khusrau

Thank you for recording this section. I appreciate it.

Thanks for PLing - and for sticking with me!
Wow, that's a lot of Khs... :shock: Sorry for making things difficult...

Thanks for recording all of these, I'll have a closer look. Often, it is pretty difficult to exchange just a word, but I'll try. No promises. :wink:

Yes, I usually leave out footnotes that simply say "see this page in that other book". I prefer the footnotes to give additional information right here and there. :lol:

My pleasure! I've enjoyed it very much.

That's totally fine. To be honest, I would have let it slide if I was listening to it as a normal listener. But as a DPLer, I had to point it out. So, feel free to ignore the corrections.

Okay, you have a point there.
Thanks, SaraHale. :D
