thank youmleigh for the all the good advice !
it was really fun to read for librivox but I must admit the tech part is not easy for me !!
there's no easy way to find the (in)famous ... 89 db, is there?
so I did my best to amplify the volume , let me know if it is ok
I reduced the noise and added silence at the end of the recording
so now the file is 14 min long
here it is.... fingers crossed

Two comments.

1. The volume still is a little low but much better. Just amplify it by 5-6 dB and that should get you 88-89 dB.
The noise reduction was great and is no issue with the extra amplification.

2. Somehow, there is now way too much silence at the end. There is over 34 seconds.
Just delete about 29 of them and that should be good too.

Bless you. It was my pleasure to record for this collection; I'm a librarian in real life and my library used to have most of these books.

I'll keep an eye on the volume for future recordings, since it's easier when I get it right the first time.
