SachaKard wrote: April 16th, 2021, 9:05 am I’d love to try my hand at section 3, if possible :)

I have one question though, as to how to pronounce « 4/0 », as in « Among the flies which my host had given me was a “Mar Lodge” (size 4/0), »

do you say « four aught »? « four slash zero »?

thanks in advance.
Thank you for claiming.
There are no rules on how to say such notations. So, however you choose. I would say four slash zero, but it's your decision.

A fly fisherman would say, “Four aught”.

Here is my recording of Section 0 for proofreading. Also, can you let me know if there is anything I need to work on?

PL Notes for Preface:

1. Your sound file is in .wav form currently, it needs to be uploaded as an mp3 file. Here is a link to Librivox tech specs:https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Tech_Specs
2. Your recording volume is too low. Librivox volume target is 89 dB +- 2 dB
3. There is a lot of background static throughout the recording
4. You begin reading as soon as the file opens, there needs to be .5 to 1.0 seconds of silence at the beginning of the file.
5. You've omitted a word in the intro, it should read: "For more information or to volunteer, please visit librivox.org."
"I've always talked to myself, now I just hit record beforehand..."

PL Notes for Section 8:

The recording volume is high at 92.8dB. Librivox would like volume as close to 89dB +-2dB as possible
There are word stumbles at the following time stamps: 3:16, 4:40, 4:53, 7:47, 7:54, 9:50, 11:44, 11:53, 12:23, 15:37, 16:25, 17:23 (stumble and words repeated)
At 4:02 the text should read, "and the stag still stood..."
5:30 there is a bang in the background
8:15 the text should read, "we tried to spy the corrie..."

An editing tip: Start with the last time stamped edit first, allowing the time stamps of the remaining place marks to remain correct.

At 10:09 & 11:50 the word hastily is pronounced [ heyst-l-ee ]
11:16 the word propitious is pronounced [ pruh-pish-uhs ]
12:37 the word plumage is pronounced [ ploo-mij ]
13:16 the word precipitous is pronounced [ pri-sip-i-tuhs ]
13:57 the word circuitous is pronounced [ ser-kyoo-i-tuhs ]
We don’t ask readers to correct pronunciation unless the meaning is changed. There are so many different accents in the English language and, depending on the source you use to check, you may get different results (for example Merrian Webster vs. OED)

My apologies. I have edited my original PL notes. Thanks for the clarification.
