I'm ready to upload my 1-minute test. I followed all the directions but when I select "start upload" nothing happens. I selected "Add files" (added my recording); selected "lynnet/Lynnet" in drop down menu and then selected "tests-tests".

Unsure what the issue might be. I tried both Firefox and Chrome.

Don’t select me... just select the tests folder, which is at or near the bottom of the list. Just select my folder for projects I’m MCing.

Hi Lynnet,

I uploaded a new test. My feedback was (paraphrasing) the voice is good but I didn't upload the correct bit rate. Below is the corrected version. I also posted it again in Listeners and Editors Wanted.

What is the next step?

Do I wait for your approval before I begin recording Chapter 1- Marshall Field? I've been practicing. I should know it 'by heart' by now

Thank you:-)

The bit rate is very easy to correct.
When you export a file (to turn it from an Audacity file to mp3), you get a dialog box, where you choose what to name the file... always following the correct protocol as in the first post of any project 8-) At the bottom of the dialog box, there are 3 choices and make sure constant is selected. There is also a drop down menu and select 128kbs. Then export. Those settings should stay the same until you do something to change them.

You can go ahead and record now if you have corrected the bit rate .

I corrected the bit rate when I uploaded the new test. I wasn't clear in my post.

I'll begin recording Chapter 1 :D

Hi Lynnet,

Chapter 1: Marshall Field is completed and uploaded

https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/howtheysucceeded_01_marden_128.mp3

I read at a rhythmic pace and attempted to differentiate my voice among the narrator, the interviewer, and Marshall Field.

I look forward to hearing from you if my recording is acceptable and met your standards.

Do you mean your catalog name? Your forum name is shereads1, which is how you appear in the forum and is unique and can’t usually be changed. Your catalog name can be changed by any admin. It’s your choice, but most people either use their real name of their forum name if they prefer anonymity.
