Thanks for the tip. I will try this in future.InTheDesert wrote: ↑June 7th, 2021, 4:48 amThis is PL OK. I loved the animation in your voice that perfectly matched his wordplay and sarcasm.sanjayparikh wrote: ↑June 6th, 2021, 8:30 am I just posted Section 19 - A New Life of Jonah. I've had a bit of a sore throat. Please let me know if you need me to record again. Here is the link. I look forward to the PL feedback.

If I can make one comment about the technical side of the recording: There was some echo in the recording which made you a little muffled (not problematic - just so you know if you want to tackle it). One easy trick to reduce echo (or at least perceived echo) is to lower the bass. I found that using the 'Bass and Treble' effect in Audacity set to -8dB on the bass on your recording added quite a bit of clarity. You can do what you like with that information
Thanks for checking in!
Cheers, Ava.

Hi there and welcome to LV and to this project!
I have pencilled you in for this section; however, before you record "for real", please do your 1-minute test so we can make sure you got all the tech specs right and have any problems ironed out before you start. Your welcome mail has details about the test (and our LibriVox wiki too); when you're done, please post it over in "Listeners and Editors Wanted" where somebody will listen to it and give you advice.
Once you got an [OK] on your test, please come back here and I'll enter your claim in the database. You'll have a month to complete your test.
Have fun on here!
Also: section 26 is uploaded.

Hello mate - glad you like it so far, I did indeed re-record the whole thing?!InTheDesert wrote: ↑June 15th, 2021, 2:30 amAll PL OK. Extremely smooth edits - I hope you didn't re-record the whole thing!Roxby wrote: ↑June 15th, 2021, 2:04 am Here it is

You did? Seriously?
Well, not only was that pretty unnecessary, but now you have made more work for our DPL since he'll have to listen to the whole file again. While you may have corrected the mistakes of your first recording, you may have inadvertently made new ones elsewhere.
Please do not do re-record a whole section; addressing the PL notes is perfectly enough.
And if you do, you'll need to alert the DPL so he knows to listen to the entire file again.
If you need help with editing, I'm sure we have a how-to video about it somewhere. I can look it up for you.
Cheers, Ava.

I understand that.
My own first attempts at editing all sounded... *puking emoji*
But I don't think redoing the whole section was really worth it. As I said above, we're not looking for perfection; and instead of getting two sections out there, you're still stuck with a single one. And you still don't know how to edit, which is a skill you only learn by actually doing it.
Plus, as I said, you have made more work for our DPL, who is also a volunteer with probably limited time and it's not really fair to him either.
I'm not seriously mad at you, no worries.
But please do promise that if you get another set of PL notes for this one and also for all your other sections in the future, that you will ONLY do these edits, and then you move on to a new recording. Okay?
