Bible (YLT) NT 01: Matthew, by Young's Literal Translation
This Bible version tries to stay as close to the original Hebrew and Greek texts as possible. As stated in the preface to the second edition, "If a translation gives a present tense when the original gives a past, or a past when it has a present; a perfect for a future, or a future for a perfect; an a for a the, or a the for an a; an imperative for a subjunctive, or a subjunctive for an imperative; a verb for a noun, or a noun for a verb, it is clear that verbal inspiration is as much overlooked as if it had no existence. THE WORD OF GOD IS MADE VOID BY THE TRADITIONS OF MEN."

The Gospel of Matthew relates the life and Ministry of Jesus, with a focus on Jesus' deity and fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies. (Summary by TriciaG)

Great, thanks!

It's definitely a different sentence feel that doesn't quite roll off the tongue. :)

Here is the completed Ch. 3. I don't mind taking more chapters, but as this is my first official librivox upload I'd rather make sure everything was done correctly with this one first.
Thanks!

Thank you! Nicely read, and almost word perfect.

2:10 - "Then cometh Jesus from Galilee upon the Jordan" - I hear "unto the Jordan"

2:41 - "and he saw tho Spirit of God" - I zoomed in on "tho" and I really think it's "the" with a very, very faint line to make it an E.

So I'm assuming that means I need to fix those 2 spots and then re-upload, correct? I was thinking the tho was wrong, but that's what it appeared to say. :)

Also, I'll take chapters 4-8 as well.

Here is the revised Chapter 3
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/matthew_03_ylt_128kb.mp3

And I might have been a little bored today, so I finished up through chapter 8 as well.

Chapter 4 - Duration(04:06)
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/matthew_04_ylt_128kb.mp3
Chapter 5 - Duration(07:28)
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/matthew_05_ylt_128kb.mp3
Chapter 6 - Duration(05:55)
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/matthew_06_ylt_128kb.mp3
Chapter 7 - Duration(04:31))

Chapter 8 - Duration(05:28)

I'll take 9-14, but I plan on taking some time with those as I have other projects to work on as well.

Welcome, Puelof! Please do start off with the 1-minute test to be sure your technical settings are all OK.

How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname or forum name, some their real name) and a link to a personal web site or blog, if you have one. I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) when you say, "recorded by [your name]" as that's how listeners will look for you. (Keep in mind that prospective employers, classmates, enemies, etc. can also find you using the catalog name, so be cautious if privacy might be an issue.)

Michelle - I've added in your claim as well. Thank you!
