Welcome! Section 20 (part 5, chapter 1) is a bit long. It'll probably end up as about 40 minutes of finished recording.

Please do the 1-minute test before starting in on it. It would be a shame to do all that recording, only to find a tech problem means that you have to re-record the whole thing. (It has happened!)

How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname or forum name, some their real name) and a link to a personal web site or blog, if you have one. I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) when you say, "recorded by [your name]" as that's how listeners will look for you. (Keep in mind that prospective employers, classmates, enemies, etc. can also find you using the catalog name, so be cautious if privacy might be an issue.)

Thanks! Please remember to post the run times for the files also.

Looks like I'll have some proof-listening to do this afternoon! 8-)

Section 28:

0:50 - "as he locks up the MS" - please say "manuscript" instead of "MS". (You can do this same thing in all books where you see MS or MSS [manuscripts, plural]). It happens a lot in old books.

2:35- 2:59 - really quiet; I can barely hear it. Please amplify this portion (5-8 dB, I'd guess)

3:20-4:00 - even quieter. Amplify by about 10 dB.

4:00-4:45 - amplify about 5 dB.

5:10-5:20 - volume issues

Section abruptly cuts off at about 5:28, before the end of the chapter.

(By the way, it's not in this recording since it was cut off, but "L50,000" would be 50,000 pounds. I'm not sure how you read it.)

Regarding volume: dynamic reading is fun as a reader, but not so much when you're a listener. Some sentences blasted out while others are almost whispered makes it hard for someone to listen. They either don't catch the words or get surprised by a really loud part. I'd say, please don't be SO differing in your volumes. :)

Section 29: PL OK. Beautifully read! Volume was great on this one.

"for it was hard indeed to convince Mr. Trevanion that a deserving man ever was in such distress as to want charity." I know people who think this way. :)

Thank you! - this is a link to 82. Do you have 83 uploaded?

I did notice that 82's volume is too low. (It needs to come up about 5 or 6 dB.) I haven't checked 83 yet.
I'll put you in for 54 and 59. :)

Section 29 PL OK

Section 30:
about 0:25-0:35 - a bit too quiet
about 3:40-3:48 - a bit too quiet
I don't know whether to advise you to amplify the last bit, about 9:20 or so to the end. It's quiet, but there aren't any loud parts after it. :hmm:

(Ohmygoodness - chapter 3 was hilarious... and creepy! I've had bugs surprise me like that, too!)

Very enjoyable chapters to listen to. Thank you! :)
